Ingredients

  • 1 large egg white acts as a binder
  • 1 cup dried breadcrumbs provides crunchy texture and absorbs moisture
  • 1 cup grated carrot adds sweetness and moisture
  • 1 cup grated onion brings flavor and keeps burgers juicy
  • 1 cup finely chopped green bell pepper offers fresh crunch and vibrant color
  • 2 teaspoons salt enhances overall flavor
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper adds subtle kick
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese adds umami flavor
  • 16 ounces lean ground turkey provides lean protein

Instructions

  • Begin by grating the carrots and onion, and finely chopping the green bell pepper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated carrot, grated onion, chopped green bell pepper, dried breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese. Stir together until well combined.
  • Add the lean ground turkey and the egg white to the vegetable mixture. Mix gently with your hands or a wooden spoon to avoid overworking.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  • Preheat your grill or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  • Cook the patties on the hot grill or griddle for 5-6 minutes on one side until browned. Flip and cook another 5-6 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove the burgers from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Griddle or Grill
  • Spatula
  • Food Processor (optional)

Notes

  • Do not overmix the burger mixture to keep the texture tender and juicy.
  • Grate vegetables finely to help them cook quickly and blend well in the patties.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach a safe internal temperature without drying out.
  • Freeze cooked patties for up to 3 months to enjoy later.
  • Try adding herbs, spices, or cheese for delicious variations.
