Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into strips
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey meat
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Butter leaf lettuce rinsed and patted dry
  • Cheese and other toppings (such as avocado, sour cream, or salsa)

Instructions

  • Begin by slicing the yellow onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper into strips. Mince the garlic and set all the vegetables aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, allowing the garlic to release its aroma.
  • Push the sautéed vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the ground turkey to the center. Cook the turkey for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with your spatula, until it is browned and fully cooked.
  • Once the turkey is cooked, sprinkle in the chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, and salt. Mix everything together, ensuring the turkey and vegetables are well-coated with the spices. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • To assemble your Turkey Fajita Lettuce Wraps, take a butter leaf lettuce leaf and spoon some of the turkey and vegetable mixture into the center. Top with cheese and any other toppings of your choice, such as diced avocado, sour cream, or fresh salsa.
  • Serve the wraps immediately while they're warm, and enjoy the burst of flavors with each bite.
