Instructions
Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Let store-bought dough sit at room temperature for 30 minutes or ensure homemade dough has risen for 2-6 hours.
Cook the Beef and Veggies
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion, carrot, and orange pepper; sauté for 5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute more.
Add ground beef, breaking apart with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons taco seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro.
Roll Out the Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer to a pizza stone or greased baking sheet.
Assemble the Pizza
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon taco seasoning over the sauce. Layer the cooked beef and vegetable mixture on top.
Generously sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the toppings.
Bake the Pizza
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Watch carefully to avoid over-baking.
Garnish and Serve
Remove pizza from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with additional fresh cilantro if desired. Slice and serve hot.
