Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 clove garlic grated or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 2 ounces white cheddar cheese sliced

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, finely grated Parmesan cheese, and grated garlic or garlic powder. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Spread the garlic butter generously on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the mozzarella and white cheddar cheese. Top with the other slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Place a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the sandwich to the pan.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich using your spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
  • Once cooked to perfection, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Cut in half and serve warm.

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Grater
  • Measuring Spoons

Notes

  • For a healthier alternative, use whole wheat or gluten-free bread.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like Gruyère or Gouda.
  • Add fresh herbs or spinach for added nutrition.
  • Incorporate sliced tomatoes or crispy bacon for extra indulgence.
