Ingredients

  • 8 ounces frozen Brussels sprouts whole or halved, firm and free from freezer burn
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil good quality
  • salt and pepper to taste, freshly ground black pepper and sea salt or kosher salt

Instructions

How To Make Roasted Frozen Brussels Sprouts

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). A high temperature is key to achieving that crispy, caramelized exterior on the Brussels sprouts.
  • Take your frozen Brussels sprouts straight from the freezer — no need to thaw. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the frozen Brussels sprouts, then sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss well to ensure every sprout is evenly coated with oil and seasoning.
  • Spread the Brussels sprouts out in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Make sure they have some space between them to allow for even roasting and crisping.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Roast for about 25-30 minutes, stirring or shaking the pan halfway through cooking to promote even browning. The Brussels sprouts should be golden brown and crispy on the edges when done.
  • Once perfectly roasted, transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Taste and adjust seasoning with a little more salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot and enjoy the crispy, flavorful goodness!

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Rimmed Baking Sheet

Notes

To get extra crispy Brussels sprouts, avoid overcrowding the pan and roast at a high temperature of 425°F (220°C). Stir or shake the pan halfway through cooking. You can add garlic, lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, balsamic glaze, or fresh herbs to customize the flavor.
