Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for a golden crust.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, dried parsley, and optional cayenne pepper until well combined.
Add the buttermilk and 6 tablespoons melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a rubber spatula until just combined, leaving some lumps.
Fold in the shredded sharp Cheddar cheese evenly throughout the dough.
Using a large spoon or cookie scoop, drop generous amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
While baking, mix 3 tablespoons melted butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Once biscuits are done, brush this mixture generously over the tops.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley over the biscuits as a garnish. Serve warm and enjoy!
