Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh broccoli florets trimmed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce gluten-free if needed
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for a hot oven to achieve perfect roasted texture.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the trimmed broccoli florets. Drizzle with olive oil, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Toss until the broccoli is well coated.
  • Spread the broccoli out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Ensure florets are not overcrowded for even roasting.
  • Roast the broccoli in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes. Halfway through, toss the broccoli with a spatula or tongs for even cooking.
  • Once tender and slightly crispy, remove the broccoli from the oven. Immediately sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top while still hot.
  • Transfer the roasted broccoli to a serving platter and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Silicone spatula or tongs

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet to prevent steaming and ensure proper roasting.
  • Watch the broccoli closely at the end to avoid overcooking and losing crispiness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or microwave.
