  • 8 cups Chex cereal Rice Chex, Corn Chex, or a mixture
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar for dusting

  • Measure out 8 cups of your choice of Chex cereal—Rice Chex, Corn Chex, or a mix of both. Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1/4 cup salted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract if using.
  • Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal. Use a spatula to gently fold and stir until every piece is evenly coated without crushing the cereal.
  • Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag or container with lid. Add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, seal tightly, and shake vigorously until well coated.
  • Spread the Puppy Chow on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set for 10-15 minutes. Once cooled, transfer to a serving bowl or airtight container and enjoy!
