Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper (cheesy variety)
  • 1 ½ cups water or chicken stock for added flavor
  • 2 cups milk alternatives include almond milk, oat milk, or any preferred non-dairy milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional toppings shredded cheese, chopped green onions, or crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Pour in the 1 ½ cups of water (or chicken stock) and 2 cups of milk into the skillet with the browned beef. Stir well to combine.
  • Add in the contents of the Hamburger Helper box. Stir until well combined, ensuring the beef is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Increase the heat slightly to bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
  • Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The pasta will cook and absorb the flavors of the sauce.
  • Once the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Serve your Perfect Hamburger Helper Recipe from Box (Cheesy!) hot, with optional toppings like shredded cheese, green onions, or crushed red pepper flakes for an extra kick of flavor.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Measuring Cups

  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer uncovered for a few minutes.
  • Try different boxed Hamburger Helper flavors to vary the taste.
