Ingredients

  • 5 medium chicken thighs bone-in, skin-on
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ounce ranch seasoning dry ranch seasoning powder (about 2 tablespoons)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove moisture for crispy skin. Place them in a mixing bowl once dry.
  • Combine the baking powder, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken thighs and toss to coat evenly.
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on top if available. Arrange the chicken thighs skin-side up on the rack, spaced so they do not touch.
  • Bake the chicken thighs for 35-40 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Check for an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute. Serve with your favorite sides.

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or roasting pan
  • Wire Rack
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Tongs
  • Instant-read thermometer

Notes

  • Ensure chicken skin is thoroughly dried before seasoning to maximize crispiness.
  • Use a wire rack to allow even heat circulation and prevent soggy skin.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 375°F for 10-15 minutes to restore crispiness without drying out.
