Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons butter (or olive oil)
  • 1 to 2 lemons
  • 4 fillets skinless salmon about 6 ounces each
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Method: Lemon Butter Baked Salmon

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that your salmon will cook evenly and develop a beautiful texture.
  • Lightly grease your baking dish with butter or olive oil to prevent the salmon from sticking. This will also add a little extra flavor.
  • Place the skinless salmon fillets in the baking dish. Drizzle with melted butter or olive oil, then season generously with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Slice the lemons into thin rounds. Arrange the lemon slices on top of and around the salmon fillets. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the fish for an additional burst of flavor.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork when done.
  • Once baked, remove the salmon from the oven. Serve immediately, garnished with any remaining lemon slices and your favorite side dishes!

Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Oven

Notes

  • For perfectly flaky salmon, avoid overcooking. Check for doneness around the 15-minute mark.
  • If you prefer crispy edges, switch your oven to broil for the last few minutes of cooking, but watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Add vegetables like asparagus or broccoli to the baking dish for a complete meal.
