  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper until just evenly mixed. Do not overwork the meat.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 to 1 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each pattie.
  • Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook 5–6 minutes per side, flipping once, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from the grill and let the burgers rest a couple of minutes, then serve warm on buns with desired toppings.

  • Grill
  • Large Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Instant-read thermometer

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat to keep burgers tender.
  • Make a slight dimple in each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure burgers reach 165°F.
  • Adjust salt to taste depending on bread crumbs used.
