Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken wings cut into separate drumettes and flats
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cooking spray optional

Buffalo Sauce

  • 1 tbsp buffalo sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water

Teriyaki Glaze

  • 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce substitute soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water

Garnish and Serving

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional, to garnish
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing substitute ranch
  • 1 carrot sliced into sticks
  • 1 celery sliced into sticks

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by rinsing your chicken wings under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. This step is vital for achieving crispiness.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken wings, garlic powder, and salt. Toss them until the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This helps to create that perfect crispy texture.
  • If you prefer, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Then, place the seasoned wings in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

Cooking

  • Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). For extra crispiness, you can cook them for an additional 5 minutes.

Sauces

  • While the wings are cooking, prepare your sauces. For the buffalo sauce, combine the melted butter, buffalo sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of water in a bowl.
  • For the teriyaki glaze, mix together teriyaki sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over half of the wings and toss to coat. Do the same with the teriyaki glaze for the remaining wings.

Serving

  • Arrange the wings on a platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Serve with blue cheese or ranch dressing, along with carrot and celery sticks for a refreshing crunch.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Sheet
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Cooking brush

Notes

  • For the crispiest wings, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
  • Let the wings rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning and sauces according to your taste preferences.
  • Make a double batch for meal prep and store leftovers properly.
