Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast diced, boneless skinless
  • 8 oz fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced fresh
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional, toasted
  • 2 tbsp green onion thinly sliced

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

  • Trim the ends off fresh green beans, dice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces, and mince garlic cloves finely.

Step 2: Sauté the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook 5-6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the Green Beans

  • Add more olive oil if needed and sauté green beans for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

Step 4: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • Lower heat to medium. Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in honey and soy sauce, stirring to let sauce thicken about 1-2 minutes.

Step 5: Combine Chicken and Sauce

  • Return cooked chicken to skillet and toss to coat with sauce and green beans. Cook for another minute to combine flavors.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately, ideally over steamed rice or your favorite grain.

Equipment

  • Large skillet or non-stick frying pan
  • Cutting board and sharp knife
  • Measuring Spoons and Cups
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • Serving Dish

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for juicier meat, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
  • Swap green beans seasonally with asparagus, snap peas, or vegetables like bell peppers or sweet potatoes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat gently to avoid drying out.
