Ingredients

  • 2 cups barbecue sauce choose your favorite brand or flavor
  • 1/2 cup honey adds natural sweetness
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 2 lbs frozen meatballs star of the show

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until well blended, ensuring that the garlic is evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
  • Add the frozen meatballs to the bowl with the sauce. Gently stir to coat each meatball thoroughly in the sauce mixture.
  • If using a slow cooker, transfer the meatballs and sauce mixture to the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until heated through. If using the stovetop, pour the mixture into a large saucepan and heat over medium heat. Stir occasionally for about 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is bubbly.
  • Once cooked, transfer the meatballs to a serving platter or bowl. Garnish with chopped parsley or additional red pepper flakes if desired. Serve warm and enjoy.

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Large saucepan or slow cooker
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute vegan meatballs and maple syrup for honey.
  • If the sauce is too sweet, add a splash of apple cider vinegar or mustard to balance the flavors.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
