Ingredients

  • 2 lbs broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key for achieving that crispy texture.
  • Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli florets. If they are wet, they will steam rather than roast, preventing that coveted crispiness.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with the olive oil, salt, and garlic powder. Toss until the broccoli is evenly coated.
  • Lay the seasoned broccoli florets in a single layer on the baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Roast the broccoli for about 15 minutes. After that, remove it from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the broccoli is tender and golden brown.
  • Once done, take the broccoli out of the oven. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Oven

Notes

  • Dry the broccoli well after washing to ensure it roasts instead of steams.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best melting and flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to get crispy broccoli.
  • Store raw florets in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat leftovers in oven or microwave.
  • For vegan or dairy-free options, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast or vegan cheese.
