Ingredients

  • 8 oz ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Garlic Butter Steak and Noodles Cooking Guide

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about ½ cup of the noodle water for later.
  • Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if preferred. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest while you prepare the sauce.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute—be careful not to burn it. Pour in the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer and reduce slightly for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce. If the sauce feels too thick, add a splash of the reserved noodle water to loosen it. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain. Serve the steak slices on top of the garlic butter noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh finish.

Equipment

  • Large skillet or cast-iron pan
  • Pot for boiling noodles
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Wooden Spoon or Tongs
  • Measuring Spoons and Cups

Notes

  • Use ribeye for more flavor or sirloin for a leaner option.
  • Reserve some noodle water to adjust sauce consistency perfectly.
  • Let the steak rest after cooking to keep it juicy and tender.
  • For a lower-carb version, substitute egg noodles with zucchini or shirataki noodles.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently with added broth or water.
