Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 batch Greek yogurt dough

For the Garlic Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 3 tablespoons garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese your favorite cheese

Instructions

Garlic Breadsticks Made Stepwise

  • In a mixing bowl, combine your Greek yogurt dough ingredients. Mix until it forms a soft, cohesive dough. If it’s too sticky, add a little bit of flour until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • On a floured surface, take the dough and roll it out into a rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick. Make sure it’s even to ensure uniform baking.
  • Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the rolled-out dough into strips, about 1 inch wide. They can be as long as you prefer, but typically 6 to 8 inches works best.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, stirring until fragrant. This will be brushed over the dough.
  • Place the cut breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the tops with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the breadsticks, making sure each piece gets a nice cheesy topping.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the breadsticks for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. These breadsticks are best enjoyed warm with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Store leftover breadsticks at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Freeze cooled breadsticks in a freezer-safe bag for longer storage.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes for best texture.
  • Customize with fresh herbs or add-ins like sun-dried tomatoes for seasonal variations.
  • Cover breadsticks loosely with foil if cheese browns too quickly during baking.
