Ingredients

For the Fruit Salsa:

  • 0.5 pineapple peeled and diced
  • 1 mango peeled and diced
  • 2 cups strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 3 kiwis peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 lime juiced

For the Cinnamon Chips:

  • 6 flour tortillas
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

Prepare the Fruit

  • Start by washing all your fruit thoroughly. Peel and dice the pineapple and mango into bite-sized cubes. Hull and chop the strawberries, then add the whole blueberries. Peel and finely chop the kiwis, and peel, core, and dice the apples. Place all the chopped fruit into a large mixing bowl.

Add Lime Juice

  • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the prepared fruit. The lime juice not only adds a zesty brightness but also helps to prevent the apples and other fruits from browning. Gently toss the fruit to coat it evenly with the lime juice.

Make the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  • In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and ground cinnamon. This mixture will give your chips that perfect sweet and spicy flavor.

Prepare the Cinnamon Chips

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush both sides of the flour tortillas with melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over one side of each tortilla. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each tortilla into 8 triangular chips.

Bake the Chips

  • Place the chips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the chips are crisp and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning, as ovens can vary.

Serve

  • Spoon the fruit salsa into a serving bowl and serve alongside the warm cinnamon chips. The contrast between the chilled, juicy fruit and the warm, crunchy chips is truly irresistible.

Notes

Use ripe but firm fruit to ensure the salsa holds its shape and texture. For extra zest, add a teaspoon of lime zest along with the juice. If you want a sweeter salsa, drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over the fruit before serving. Make sure to spread the cinnamon sugar evenly on the tortillas for consistent flavor. Store the cinnamon chips in an airtight container to keep them crisp. Feel free to chill the fruit salsa before serving for an even more refreshing treat.
