Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional; use walnuts, pecans, or almonds

Instructions

  • Line your 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal, or lightly grease with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir well until evenly mixed.
  • Pour in 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter and 1/4 cup honey. Stir with a spatula until the mixture forms a thick, sticky dough.
  • Add 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (if using). Fold gently to distribute without melting the chips completely.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Press firmly and evenly into the pan using the back of a spoon or your hands.
  • Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the bars are firm enough to cut.
  • Lift the bars out using the parchment overhang and slice into squares or rectangles. Serve immediately or store for later.
