  • 2 large Eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch

Chocolate Sauce

  • 1 pint Chocolate Ice Cream
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup Sugar for sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Butter for sauce
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour for sauce
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder for sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Brownies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of softened butter with 1 cup of packed brown sugar and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Beat until creamy and well combined.
  • Add 2 large eggs and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of cornstarch, 3/4 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips.
  • Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan.

Make the Chocolate Sauce

  • In a double boiler or microwave, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
  • Once melted, stir in 1/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 2 cups of whole milk.
  • Whisk until smooth and heated through, then set aside.

Assemble the Sundae

  • Cut the cooled brownies into squares.
  • Place a brownie square in a bowl or dessert dish, top with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, and drizzle with the warm chocolate sauce.
  • For an extra touch, sprinkle with chopped pecans if desired.
