6ouncespizza sauce
16ouncesmozzarella cheesesliced
3ouncespepperoni slices
2tablespoonsolive oilor melted butter
Instructions
Preparation Steps:
Start by gathering all your ingredients. If you haven’t done so already, slice your mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
Take two slices of artisan bread and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on one side of each slice. On one slice, layer on the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices, then top with the second slice of bread, sauce side down.
Lightly brush the outside of the sandwich with olive oil or melted butter to create a crispy, golden crust.
If you’re using a panini press, preheat it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If you’re using a skillet, heat it over medium heat.
Place the assembled panini in the press or skillet. If using a skillet, press down gently with a spatula. Grill for about 3-5 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Once the panini is done, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a minute. Slice it in half and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes
For extra crispiness, let your panini press heat up for a few minutes before cooking.
Don’t overload the sandwich with toppings; too much filling can make it difficult to grill.
Experiment with different types of bread. Sourdough or ciabatta can add a delightful twist.
