Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 2 flour tortillas (10 inch burritos)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Start by placing your non-stick skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up for a couple of minutes. Add butter or olive oil and let it melt or heat up.
  • Take one tortilla and sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over it. Top with the second tortilla to create a cheese-filled sandwich.
  • Place the assembled quesadilla in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.
  • Flip the quesadilla gently and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove the quesadilla from the skillet, let it rest for a minute, then slice into wedges. Serve warm with dipping sauces.

Equipment

  • Non-stick Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cutting Board

Notes

  • Press the quesadilla gently with a spatula while cooking for extra crispiness.
  • Add jalapeños or chili powder inside for a spicy kick.
  • Make multiple quesadillas at once in a larger skillet, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
  • Add crushed tortilla chips inside for added crunch.
