Ingredients

  • 2 hearts romaine lettuce or 1 large head of romaine lettuce
  • 0.75 cup Caesar dressing you can find the dressing recipe online
  • 0.33 cup Parmesan cheese finely shredded

Instructions

  • Start by washing the romaine lettuce thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit. Pat the leaves dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces or tear the leaves by hand for a rustic look. Place the prepared lettuce into a large salad bowl.
  • Pour ¾ cup of your chosen Caesar dressing over the lettuce. Make sure the dressing is well mixed before adding it to the salad. Use tongs or clean hands to toss the lettuce gently but thoroughly until every leaf is coated with the creamy dressing.
  • Once the lettuce is evenly coated with dressing, sprinkle ⅓ cup of finely shredded Parmesan cheese over the top. The cheese adds a wonderful salty, nutty flavor that perfectly complements the dressing and crisp lettuce.
  • Caesar Salad is best served fresh. Plate the salad and enjoy it right away to keep the lettuce crisp and the flavors vibrant. If desired, you can garnish with extra Parmesan or freshly cracked black pepper for a little added kick.

Equipment

  • Large Salad Bowl
  • Salad Spinner
  • Tongs

Notes

Use fresh, crisp romaine lettuce hearts for the best texture and flavor. Dry the lettuce thoroughly after washing to help the dressing cling better. For even more depth, lightly toast some halal-friendly croutons and add them just before serving. Make your own Caesar dressing to control ingredients and ensure freshness. Shred Parmesan cheese yourself instead of using pre-shredded for a richer taste and smoother texture. Chill your salad bowl beforehand to help keep the salad cool and crisp. Variations include adding grilled chicken or shrimp, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, halal-friendly bacon bits or crispy chickpeas, swapping Parmesan for Pecorino Romano, or using a yogurt-based dressing for a lighter option. Store leftover components separately to maintain freshness.
