Ingredients

  • 4 store-bought croissants preferably a bit stale for the best texture
  • 3 tablespoons sugar syrup for a touch of sweetness
  • 100 grams kataifi pastry cut into small 1 cm pieces
  • 100 mils pistachio cream for a rich, nutty flavor
  • 75 grams milk chocolate melted for a creamy filling
  • 75 grams dark chocolate for a rich contrast
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by melting the milk and dark chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals until fully melted and smooth. Once melted, stir in the pistachio cream until well combined.
  • Take your slightly stale croissants and slice them open gently, creating a pocket for the filling. Drizzle a bit of the sugar syrup inside each croissant for added sweetness and moisture. Spoon the chocolate-pistachio filling into each croissant, being generous but careful not to overfill.
  • In a separate bowl, toss the kataifi pastry pieces with the remaining sugar syrup until they are evenly coated.
  • Take the filled croissants and carefully roll them in the kataifi pastry pieces. Make sure they are well coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the kataifi-coated croissants in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren’t touching. Air fry for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Once the croissants are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with extra pistachio cream if desired and sprinkle with chopped pistachios. Serve warm and enjoy.
