Ingredients

  • avocado or olive oil cooking spray
  • 3 medium skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 5 tablespoons buffalo sauce plus more for brushing, as desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • celery sticks for serving, optional
  • carrot sticks for serving, optional
  • blue cheese dressing or dip for serving, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) and lightly spray the basket with avocado or olive oil cooking spray.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Pour 5 tablespoons buffalo sauce over the chicken, then season with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper; toss to coat evenly and let sit to marinate for 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 360°F for 10 minutes.
  • Flip the breasts and continue cooking for another 5 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer registers 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  • Remove the chicken, brush with extra buffalo sauce if desired, and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving with celery, carrot sticks, and blue cheese dressing if using.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Tongs
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Basting Brush

Notes

  • Patting the chicken dry helps the sauce adhere better.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Adjust buffalo sauce amount to taste for milder or spicier heat.
  • Cook times may vary slightly by air fryer model.
