Ingredients

  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta I used linguine
  • 1 tablespoon butter for that rich flavor base
  • 1 teaspoon flour to help thicken the sauce
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth for added depth and flavor
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream the creamy goodness
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese for cheesy finish
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of your chosen pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
  • In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
  • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of flour over the garlic and stir to combine. Cook for an additional minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  • Slowly pour in 1/4 cup of chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Then, add 1 cup of heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in 1/3 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese, mixing until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat it fully in the creamy garlic sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Serve the pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy your deliciously creamy garlic pasta!
